Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a functional trainer and a multi-station jungle gym?
A functional trainer is a single station with two independently adjustable cable pulleys, built for a wide range of movement patterns in a small footprint. A jungle gym combines several independent weight stacks in one frame, trading per-station flexibility for letting multiple members train different exercises at the same time.
Selectorized or plate-loaded, which is more common?
Both formats exist in the market. Our current lineup is selectorized (pin-select weight stacks) across all three units, faster to adjust between users than loading plates by hand.
Do I need a functional trainer if I already have a lat pulldown or dip machine?
A functional trainer covers a much wider range of angles and movement patterns than a dedicated lat pulldown or dip machine. Many facilities run both, dedicated machines for high-turnover compound lifts, plus a functional trainer for accessory work, rehab, and movement patterns a fixed machine can't replicate. See our Lat Pulldown Machines for the dedicated option.
New or refurbished, does it matter for a functional trainer?
Cables, pulleys, and weight-stack bearings see constant load on this equipment. We inspect and test each of these points closely on every refurbished unit before it ships.
