Collection: Lat Pulldown Machines
Lat pulldown machines are a back-day staple on every gym floor. The format you choose changes how members grip, pull, and feel the movement. Our lineup covers cable/linear, circular/rotary, plate-loaded, and frontal/multi-grip lat pulldown machines. We carry Premier Strength, Cybex, Life Fitness, Precor, and Star Trac, new and refurbished.
Not sure which grip attachment to stock? Our lat pulldown grip guide breaks down wide, close, and neutral grip differences.
Types of Lat Pulldown Machines
Cable / Linear Lat Pulldown
The standard pin-select format. Setup is straightforward, and most members already know it.
Circular / Rotary Lat Pulldown
An arcing pull path follows a more natural shoulder rotation through the movement.
Plate-Loaded Lat Pulldown
A higher resistance ceiling for stronger lifters. There is no weight-stack limit.
Frontal / Multi-Grip Lat Pulldown
Multiple grip positions built into one bar. It covers wide, close, and neutral-grip variety.

Buying Considerations
- General commercial floors: a cable/linear pin-select unit covers the broadest range of members. It has the least setup friction.
- Members who want grip variety: a frontal/multi-grip bar covers it. One station handles wide, close, and neutral pulls.
- Powerlifting/strength-focused floors: plate-loaded units remove the weight-stack ceiling entirely.
- New vs. refurbished: check cable fraying and pulley wear closely on refurbished units. All units are inspected and tested before shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions
Wide grip vs. close grip vs. neutral grip: does it actually matter on a lat pulldown?
Yes, grip width and angle shift the emphasis across your back muscles. Read the full breakdown in Lat Pulldown Grip Differences: Wide vs. Close vs. Neutral Grip.
Cable vs. circular lat pulldown: which should I buy?
A cable/linear machine is the more familiar, lower-cost default. A circular/rotary machine follows a more natural arc through the shoulder joint, which some members and trainers prefer for comfort.
Do I need a plate-loaded lat pulldown for a commercial gym?
Only if your membership base includes serious strength athletes who regularly exceed a standard weight stack's top pin. For most general commercial floors, pin-select is sufficient and faster for members to adjust.
New or refurbished lat pulldown: does it matter?
Cables and pulleys are the main wear points on this equipment type. We inspect cable condition and pulley wear on every refurbished unit before it ships.
