Collection: Dip Machines

Dip machines isolate the triceps and lower chest through a seated, braced dip motion, the machine-based version of bodyweight dips on parallel bars. Our lineup covers plate-loaded and selectorized tricep dip machines, plus assisted chin/dip combo stations that help members work toward full bodyweight reps. We carry Precor and Premier Strength, new and refurbished.

Types of Dip Machines

1

Plate-Loaded Tricep Dip

The standard seated dip format. Members load real plates and press through a fixed, braced arc that isolates the triceps and lower chest.

2

Selectorized Tricep Dip

A pin-select weight stack in place of loose plates. Faster to adjust between users, often with isolateral arms that move independently.

3

Assisted Chin/Dip Combo

A counterweight stack offsets part of a member's bodyweight, covering both a chin-up station and a dip station in one footprint.

Buying Considerations

  • Building toward bodyweight dips: the Chin/Dip Assist format offsets part of a member's bodyweight with a counterweight stack, so beginners can work toward full parallel-bar dips and pull-ups instead of starting cold.
  • High-turnover commercial floors: a plate-loaded or selectorized tricep dip machine keeps the movement in a fixed, braced arc, easier to spot and load heavy without a training partner.
  • Space-limited floors: the Chin/Dip Assist covers two upper-body movement patterns, chin-up and dip, in a single footprint.
  • New vs. refurbished: six of the machines here are new, part of our Premier Strength Upper Body line. The one refurbished option, the Precor Discovery Series Tricep Dip, is also part of our broader Refurbished Equipment collection. Every unit is inspected and tested before it ships.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plate-loaded vs. selectorized dip machine: what's the difference?

Plate-loaded machines use external weight plates on horns, loaded and changed by hand. Selectorized machines use a pin-select weight stack, which is faster to adjust between users. Both isolate the same triceps and lower chest movement, the difference is how you change the resistance.

What is a "Chin/Dip Assist" machine?

It uses a counterweight stack to offset part of a member's bodyweight, so someone who can't yet do a full bodyweight dip or pull-up can still train the movement with reduced resistance and lower the assist as they get stronger.

Do I need a dedicated dip machine, or does a power rack with dip bars cover it?

Many power racks and functional trainers include dip bar attachments for bodyweight dips. A dedicated dip machine adds adjustable resistance on top of bodyweight, which matters once a member can do more reps than bodyweight training alone challenges.

New or refurbished dip machine: does it matter?

This is a moderate-to-high-impact pressing movement. We check pivot points, handle padding, and weight-stack or cable condition closely on every refurbished unit before it ships.
