The Matrix R5x is a recumbent bike, with a reclined seating position and back support that takes pressure off the lower back and is often more comfortable for members doing longer, steady-state cardio sessions. It's equipped here with Matrix's touchscreen console for on-screen workout programming rather than a basic button-and-LCD setup. Recumbent bikes like the R5x also tend to be a common request from rehab and older-adult fitness populations, since the seated, supported position is easier to get into and out of than an upright bike.
